Ride with Finn.

His first coach. Today’s world champion.

A week on the Red Sea with freestyle world champion Finn Flügel and Islam Ali, who taught him to kite.

The story · Islam & Finn

First Backroll.
Full Circle.

Finn was six when Islam first showed him how to kite. First it was about riding safely, then about jumping. Finn still remembers his first backroll.

Today Finn is a world champion – and back on the water with Islam. This time, you ride with them.

Your coach · Finn Flügel

Finn shows you
what’s possible.

From Hof in Germany, moved to Egypt at ten, now competing on the GKA Kite World Tour. Freestyle, Big Air, foil – Finn rides it all. On this safari he’s on the water with you all week, coaching you and explaining how he approaches his tricks.

The team · Islam, Finn, Michael

Three friends.
One team.

On the water you’re coached by three people who know each other well – and rely on each other.

His first coach

Islam Ali

Taught Finn to kite when he was six. Today, with his own brand Dragon Liveaboard, he’s our partner for the safari. He and his crew know these waters.

Today’s world champion

Finn Flügel

2025 freestyle world champion. By day he coaches you, in the evening he goes through the clips with you.

The friend at Finn’s side

Michael Soumbatov

Has kited with Finn for years, often in Egypt, and travels with him to the big competitions. He enjoys helping others kite better – and Finn trusts him.

Who it’s for

Any age.
Any discipline.

Young riders

You want the next trick.

More height, cleaner landings, new moves. A few years ago Finn was exactly where you are now.

Experienced riders

You’ve ridden for years.

Whether you’re 35, 50 or 60+: you want to keep learning – or simply get on the water with Finn.

Couples & families

You travel together.

Kids are welcome with their parents – and so are partners, even if they don’t kite.

Your level

What you bring

  • More than basic jumps: frontroll, backroll, simple tricks
  • You want to get better at foiling, Big Air, airstyle or freestyle

One discipline or several: Finn rides it all, and we offer it all. Rather chill and only get on the water now and then? That’s fine too.

Not a kite course

Not for beginners

Riding upwind isn’t enough. This safari is for riders who already jump and want to take the next step.

Not sure your level is right? Ask Bernd: bernd.fluegel@f2boards.com

Daily schedule

Your day
with Finn.

A week of kiting with Finn – and Finn is there for you.

  1. After breakfast the speedboat takes you to the spot. You say what you want to work on – Finn, Islam and Michael start right there. The session is filmed.

  2. Lunch on the yacht, a break, time to recharge.

  3. Free riding, side by side. Try new things and watch Finn’s tricks up close. Want more? Add private coaching.

  4. The group watches the day’s clips together – that sets your goal for tomorrow. Then dinner together, later a film or games on deck.

Wind and spot set the times.

The area · Northern Red Sea

The wind
sets the route.

The safari starts in Hurghada. From there we head to the islands in the north – Tawila, Geisum, Ashrafi – and to Abu Minqar, just off the town. Islam and his crew pick the spots every day based on the wind forecast.

  • Kiting from sunrise to sunset when the wind is right
  • The yacht moves to the next spot overnight or early in the morning
  • Island spots you can only reach by boat
  • Light wind? Time to foil – or SUP, snorkelling, wakeboarding

The map shows the area, not a fixed route.

For partners & families

Come aboard –
kite or no kite.

Your partner only kites now and then – or not at all? The family mostly wants sunshine? Bring them along. In the evening, the clips show everyone what went on out on the water.

For companions

  • The sun deck and a good book
  • SUP, snorkelling, wakeboarding
  • Kiting along if the level fits – without the coaching programme
  • Kite lessons with Islam’s instructors, booked ahead or on board

With kids on board

  • Zodiac on the water, beach crew on shore
  • Warm, shallow water with a sandy bottom
  • A crew that knows these waters

What do companions who don’t kite pay? Ask Bernd: bernd.fluegel@f2boards.com

Try new gear.
Ride what suits you.

Finn rides Duotone. On the safari you can test the gear and find the setup you feel most comfortable on. He’s happy to tell you what he rides in which conditions.

We’ll announce which models and sizes are available before the trip.

The finale

Show your
progress.

To finish, the whole group heads out on the water one more time. At the Fun Comp, Game of Kite style, you show your favourite trick – or try something new. Finn, Islam and Michael are the jury. In the evening we celebrate the week on board.

Your moment. Your move.

The wind decides when the Fun Comp happens.
